RISE is a nonprofit organization that provides the residents of SLO county help with intimate partner violence as well as sexual assault and abuse. RISE combined two separate organizations in 2013, the North County Women’s Shelter and Resource Center and SARP, the Sexual Assault Recovery and Prevention center, to form one cohesive organization that successfully combines both functions. RISE stands for Respect, Inspire, Support, and Empower; all vital elements of successful and healthy relationships.
The Vision
By joining forces, RISE aimed to expand their market to encompass nontraditional demographics that have not gotten a lot of attention from help centers in the past. RISE believed both teenagers and men could benefit from their services, and set out to improve visibility towards these groups. The main goal of reevaluating their marketing strategy was to broaden the audience RISE’s messages reached, allowing extended groups to hear about the amazing work RISE does.
The Victory
Verdin worked with RISE to create a seamless transition from two organizations to one, from presenting a new name and logo, to developing a new website. The website is user friendly, translated into Spanish, and serves as a safe way for guests to explore their options and seek help. Through expanding their target market, RISE was able to increase the number of teenage clients served by 224%, and increase in men served by 121% over the past year. Overall the total number of people RISE was able to aid soared 168%. With Verdin’s help in digital marketing and publicity, nearly 300 additional individuals were able to seek the help they deserved from such a wonderful organization.
The Verdict
“After merging our two organizations, we needed a new name and brand that reflected the spirit of the new entity. The Verdin team surpassed all of our expectations, from cost to final product. We could not have been happier with the process, as they incorporated our feedback at every step and provided us with a brand that resonated with our mission, vision and values. Most importantly, the RISE brand reflects the strength, diversity and resiliency of the clients we serve. Thank you, Verdin!”
