Verdin CAREs Donates Marketing Services to Local Non-Profits
Collectively, the Verdin team has donated more than 139 hours, the equivalent value of $18,792, toward volunteer nonprofit work from 2013-2014. The Verdin Community Advocacy by Responsive Employees Program (Verdin CAREs) was launched in 2013 to give our employees the opportunity to donate the marketing firm’s services to a cause or community program of their choice.
The Verdin CAREs program runs in addition to nonprofits Verdin is already involved with like the San Luis de Tolosa Rotary, United Way, the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County and both the Public Relations Society of America and the Public Relations Student Society of America. Some of the Verdin CAREs hours have gone toward nonprofits including Hospice SLO, RISE, City Farm, and Seeds of Hope in Costa Rica.
Each Verdin employee can officially designate 12 paid hours annually to nonprofit organizations. This time can be used for the employee to attend board or committee meetings, as well as for other Verdin employees’ time for research, strategic planning, creative development, and public relations or social media assistance.
The only requirement is that the organization the employee is helping must be a 501(c)3 or 501(c)6, not-for-profit entity and that their mission or activities are not in direct conflict with any client or Verdin’s core values of commitment, innovation, loyalty, enthusiasm, strategy, and integrity.
In addition to CAREs hours and the company’s continued support of local nonprofits, Verdin additionally donated more than 24 hours in November 2014 in marketing and rebranding services to the nonprofit Op C.OY. (Operation Coaching Our Youth), totaling more than $80,000 in services.
Verdin has continued plans to keep up its stellar commitment to volunteerism and community involvement in 2015 and beyond.
